Teck Coal Ltd.

Electrical Engineer Co-op

Created The Mine's Single Line Diagram using AutoCAD for Coal Mountain Operations

Introduced to SEL protection element & Multilin Motor Protection Control

Assisted Programming Ladder Logic for variable frequency drive to control the speed of submersible pumps

Responsible for creating a plan to monitor the health of Komatsu mining equipment such as shovel PC 5500 after slew ring broke twice within a year costing more than two million dollars. Pressed Komatsu for real-time communication on equipment with KOMTRAX Plus installed with an acceptable data visualization. - Researched the right troubleshooting tools for the job. Devised a plan using templates on Microsoft Dynamics AX to print troubleshooting guidelines with a work order. Enforced feedback after fault code troubleshot for future reference. This Real-time > Action >  Feedback will save the company millions of dollars preventing equipment from breaking down.

Tested the durability of equipment, such as megger high voltage trailing cables and transformers

Evaluated load growth of Motor Control Center by measuring the amperage of equipment while in use, comparing to its FLA and using Canadian Electrical Code for its wire sizes and protection elements

Certificate of completion of Electrical Safety Training System ESTS

Certificate of completion of CCP151: Studio 5000 Logix Designer Level 2: Basic Ladder Logic Programming by Rockwell Automation

Participated in Courageous Safety Leadership sessions and I was fully committed to work safely and foster safe practices at all operation

Responsible for coming up with a plan to store electrical equipment for a number of years without energizing them. Included but not limited to motors, breakers, Motor Protection Control, Motor Control Centers, oil and dry transformers using Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors
